Hi, I'm Ann Materasso, your Colorado representative and authorized saddle fitter from Performance Saddlery Inc, specializing in fitting the Albion saddle. I have been a horse person for most of my life- I had horses when I was young, but 24 years ago when I was transplanted from Connecticut to Colorado, they became much more than a hobby. My two daughters began riding at the ages of two and four, and had ponies who were hard to find tack for, so I opened a small tack shop and became a strong supporter of our local 4-H program; ending up being a leader and riding clinician for over 22 years. This initial small venture went from a home based business operation, to a 900 sq. ft. building, to the current 3500 sq. ft. store specializing in all riding disciplines. I strongly believe in comfort for both horse and rider. I own Thoroughbreds, Arabians, and Arabian/ Thoroughbred cross horses; horses who often pose some fitting issues, so there lies my desire to learn more about saddle fitting. I currently ride dressage on a young Anglo-Arabian horse and drive in 3 phase driving competitions. I have learned that some horses need more stimulation and challenges in their training programs, and this seems to be the right combination for us.
Our saddle shop, Nightwinds Tack Shop Inc., located in Berthoud, Colorado, is open 6 days a week. Our mobile unit is at many shows throughout the year. We specialize in all breeds of horses as well as all riding disciplines.
Helping riders assess their saddles, determine their needs, and facilitate the comfort of both rider and their equine partner is an ongoing goal. Highlights of our days at the store include calls from satisfied, happy customers telling us tales of their horse related successes due to saddles they have purchased. We believe riding should be a happy experience.
